What’s Included in the Printable Haunted House Template

The free PDF contains four black-and-white template pages that children can color before assembling. The finished project is a tall 3D Halloween castle decorated with brick walls, pointed towers, fencing, ghosts, a bat and a pumpkin-topped doorway.

The printable pieces include the castle base, center building, front and back towers, connecting wall sections and decorative characters. Tabs are included around the pieces so they can be folded and secured with glue or double-sided tape.

Materials for the 3D Haunted House Craft

  • White cardstock or thick printer paper
  • Crayons, colored pencils or markers
  • Child-safe scissors
  • Glue or double-sided tape

How to Assemble the 3D Haunted House Template

  1. Print the template: Print all four pages at 100% scale so the pieces fit together correctly. Cardstock will make the finished haunted house sturdier.
  2. Color the pieces: Color the brick walls, roofs, windows, ghosts, bat and pumpkin doorway before cutting anything out.
  3. Cut everything out: Carefully cut around the outside edges of each piece while keeping the folding and gluing tabs attached.
  4. Fold the tabs: Crease the tabs and foldable edges before adding glue or tape. Pre-folding makes the castle easier to assemble.
  5. Build the base: Assemble the large labeled base piece and secure its tabs with glue or double-sided tape.
  6. Add the center building: Fold and assemble the upper center section, then attach it to the top and center of the base.
  7. Attach the towers: Add the back towers on top of the rear section. Attach the front towers to the front of the base rather than placing them on top.
  8. Connect the sides: Attach the long wall and fence sections between each front tower and back tower to complete the 3D haunted castle.

Printing and Assembly Tips

  • Choose the “best” or “high-quality” print setting so the small brick, roof and character details remain clear.
  • Keep the print scale at 100%. Using “fit to page” may resize the pieces and prevent them from lining up correctly.
  • Make a test copy on regular paper before using cardstock if you want to check your printer settings.
  • Color the pages before cutting them out, then let markers or paint dry completely before folding the pieces.

3D Haunted House Template Questions

How many pages are included in the haunted house template?

The free PDF includes four black-and-white template pages containing all the pieces needed to assemble the haunted castle.

What type of paper works best?

White cardstock creates the sturdiest finished house. Regular printer paper can work, but the completed structure will be softer and may need extra support.

Should children color the template before cutting it out?

Yes. Coloring the flat pages first is much easier than trying to decorate the house after it has been assembled.

Can teachers print copies for their classrooms?

Yes. The template may be printed for personal or classroom use, but it may not be sold, redistributed or used commercially.
