These free printable corn outlines are perfect for all sorts of fall crafts and activities.

Choose a large outline when kids need plenty of room to color or glue. The small corn cutouts are handy for garlands, counting activities, and bulletin board borders.

For a harvest-themed lesson, look at an ear of corn together and point out the kernels and husk before the kids decorate their paper versions.

These are great Fall templates and work great alongside our acorn templates and pumpkin templates.

Uses for the Corn Craft Template

Use the outlines as corn coloring pages, tracing patterns, or stencils. Regular paper works well for coloring; cardstock gives you a sturdier shape for tracing or hanging up.

Tracing and stencils: Print the simple outline on cardstock and cut around the outside. Lay it on yellow construction paper and trace around it, then cut out the corn shape. For a painting stencil, an adult can cut out the inside of the shape, leaving the surrounding paper intact. Hold it in place and dab paint lightly around the opening.

Counting and patterns: Have kids draw a few kernels at a time and count them, or make rows of yellow and orange dots in a repeating pattern. The smaller outlines also work as counting pieces once they are cut out.

Easy Corn Craft Ideas for Fall

Textured corn: Spread a thin layer of glue inside a large corn outline, sprinkle on cornmeal, and shake off the extra over a tray. Let it dry flat. Torn yellow tissue paper is another easy way to fill the shape with texture.

Painted corn: Color the husk green, then fill the cob with yellow paint or dots of yellow, purple, and orange. Let each color dry before adding the next if you want to keep the dots separate.

Classroom decorations: Let each child decorate a small corn outline and write their name on it. Arrange the finished cutouts around a fall bulletin board, or tape them to string for a harvest garland. Mix in our printable leaf templates for extra fall shapes.

Corn kernel collage: Older kids can glue dried kernels onto the cob in rows. Use torn paper with younger children who still put small objects in their mouths, and let the finished collage dry completely before lifting it.

Corn coloring pages: Print the detailed design on white paper and let the kids fill in the kernels with crayons or colored pencils. The simple outline leaves more room for their own patterns and faces.

Printing Tips for Your Corn Outlines

Open the PDF from your email and select the pages you want to print. Start with “actual size” or 100% scale. If the edges are being cut off, choose “fit to page” instead; you can also reduce the scale percentage for smaller cutouts.

Use plain printer paper for crayons and colored pencils, or printer-compatible cardstock for tracing patterns and decorations. Print one test page before making copies for the whole class.
