Materials
Paper plate: A plain white paper plate, preferably the ones without any coating on them work best as we’ll be painting the plate.
Green construction paper: For the leaf and worm. You can grab our smaller worm templates and one of our leaf templates and print them out on the green paper for easy outlines.
Popsicle stick: For the stem.
You’ll also need some basic craft supplies like:
- Red paint
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Black marker
How to Make a Paper Plate Apple
Gather your materials. Start by cutting out a “bit mark” in one area of the paper plate, like shown above. Then cut out a leaf shape and a worm shape from the green paper.
Next paint the entire paper plate red and let it dry. You can do this step first and use the drying time to cut out the worm and leaf shapes.
Now, take your popsicle stick and glue it to the top of the “apple” letting half of it stick out from the top.
Then attach your leaf onto the paper plate apple right where the stem meets the plate.
Then take your worm and glue it to the back of the paper plate, sticking out of the “bite” area.
Finally, draw a face and any details you want on your worm and your paper plate apple is finished!
