If you're using the black and white version, let the kids color it in as they like using markers, crayons, or even colored pencils.

It's a great way to encourage creativity!

Next, cut out the apple and leaf, making sure to follow along the designated cutting lines.

Then, fold the apple and leaf along the dotted lines. You may need to help younger children with this step.

After folding, glue the short ends of the apple and leaf together, creating a circle shape.

Then, glue the two circles together by the longer sides, making sure the apple is in the center of the leaf. Hold the circles together for a few seconds until the glue dries.

Finally, add some finishing touches by adding the stem and the leaf. You can also add a cute face to the apple using markers or googly eyes. The possibilities are endless!

Other Apple Activities and Ideas

If you're looking to expand your apple craft experience, we've got some fantastic additional apple-themed activities that will not only be fun but also provide educational opportunities.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Apple crafts: Incorporate more apple crafts into the learning. You can use our apple templates to create apple art of all sorts or try making a paper plate apple craft or even try out our origami apple.

Apple Stamping Art: For a simple and creative activity, cut apples in half and use them as stamps for painting.

This is an excellent opportunity to explore patterns, colors, and shapes while creating unique art pieces.

You can also incorporate a lesson on symmetry by comparing the stamped apple halves.

Apple Taste Test: Set up a taste test with different apple varieties such as Granny Smith, Fuji, Gala, and Honeycrisp. Discuss the differences in taste, texture, and appearance.

Encourage children to describe and compare their experiences, which will help enhance their vocabulary and sensory skills.

You can read some of our apple quotes and jokes to them while they taste their apples for a fun and enjoyable experience.

Apple Math: Use apples as manipulatives for math lessons. Practice counting, grouping, and basic addition or subtraction with the apples.

For older kids, you can introduce fractions by cutting the apples into halves, quarters, and eighths.

This hands-on approach to math will make learning more engaging and enjoyable.

Apple Volcano Science Experiment: Create a fun and exciting science experiment by making apple volcanoes!

Hollow out the core of an apple and fill it with baking soda. Then, add a few drops of food coloring and vinegar to create a colorful, fizzing eruption.

This activity offers a great way to teach kids about chemical reactions in a safe and visually appealing manner.

Apple Life Cycle Study: Explore the life cycle of an apple tree from seed to fruit-bearing tree.

Use illustrations, videos, or even a real apple tree (if accessible) to teach children about the different stages of growth. This activity encourages curiosity and understanding of nature's processes.

By incorporating these additional apple-themed activities into your lesson plans, you'll provide children with a well-rounded and engaging learning experience that goes beyond the craft itself.
