How to Make Reindeer Bookmarks
Choose the colors you’d like your bookmarks to be. We choose red and different shades of brown and tan construction paper.
Trace the template pieces out onto the paper. The nose piece on to red paper, the body, head, both lets and outer ear pieces on the medium-light brown paper.
Then trace out the antlers on a darker brown, and the inner ear, mouth, and belly on a light brown.
Trace the scarf pattern on whatever colored paper you would like. Cut out once done.
Next, attach the antlers on top of the head, one on each side.
Then attach the inner ears to the outer ears.
Glue the nose near the top of the mouth and put the belly on the middle of the body, similar to that shown below.
Attach the ears to the top of the head, on the outside of where the antlers are.
Add the mouth and nose near the bottom center of the head. Use a marker or sharper to add the eye and mouth.
Add the head to the top of the body pattern and put the scarf right below the head.
Add glue to the open sides of the body (both left and right) and then put the leg cutouts onto the glued parts.
The legs should be placed inwards.
Attach both legs to the body. The legs need to be glued along the edges only, and the rest of the legs shouldn’t be glued.
This will allow your reindeer to “hug” the pages of your book.
Use a brown marker or pen to draw the hooves on the open end of the legs.
Slide a page between the body and the 2 upper legs to use it as a bookmark.
Don’t they make the cutest bookmarks, ever? Perfect for holding the spot until you come back to read!
