Materials
Colored craft paper: We used browns for the body and head, some orange for the beak and feet and white for the eyes. You could also color in the template instead of using craft paper with crayons or colored pencils.
Owl puppet template: You can grab the free printable at the bottom of this post.
Paper bag: We used the small lunch sack size bag.

- Craft glue
- Pencil

How to Make an Owl Puppet
Start by printing out the owl template. Then grab the colored craft papers you’d like to use. The template has the pieces to make the owl’s head, face, wings, beak, eyes, face and legs.
Start by attaching the face cutout piece to the center of the owl’s head piece.
Then glue his eyes and beak onto his face.
Grab your paper bag and cut out piece of colored craft paper big enough to cover the front the bag (not including the flap) like shown below.
Next, attach the cut piece of paper to the paper bag.
Now you can flatten the bottom side of the bag down and attach the owl’s head, like shown below.
Then attach his legs to the bottom side and the wings to each side of the bag.
And that’s it. Your owl puppet is complete.

- Paper lunch bag

- Pencil
Instructions
- Printing out the owl template. Grab your cooose colored craft papers.
- Attach the face piece to the center of the head piece.
- Glue eyes and beak onto face.
- Grab your paper bag and measure out a piece of colored craft paper the size of the front of the bag.
- Attach the colored piece of paper to the bag.
- Attach head to the bottom flap of the bag.
- Finally, attach legs and wings onto the body of the owl and enjoy your puppet.
