The Craft

This rocking UFO craft includes several easy steps where kids get to cut, fold, and assemble their own flying saucer! They will:

✔ Fold a circular base to create the rocking effect.
✔ Decorate the spaceship with lights, a glass cover, and an alien pilot.
✔ Use sharpies to add fun details and watch their UFO come to life!

Instructions

Print & Cut the Template – Print and cut out the UFO craft template, including the base, border, glass cover, sparkle symbol, lights, and alien patterns.

Fold the Base – Take the circular base and fold it neatly in half. This will allow the UFO to rock back and forth.

Attach the Border – Glue the base border along one of the open edges of the folded UFO base.

Add the UFO Lights – Attach the small round cutouts along the border of the base to create glowing UFO lights.

Make the Alien – Glue the antenna cutouts to the top of the alien’s head cutout. Then, attach the head to the body.

Prepare the Window Cover – Attach the shine/sparkle cutout to the glass cover cutout. Use a Sharpie to add outlines for extra detail.

Draw the Alien’s Face – Use a Sharpie to draw the eyes and mouth on the alien.

Attach the Alien – Glue the alien inside the glass cover, making it look like it’s inside the spaceship.

Assemble the UFO – Glue the glass cover with the alien onto the closed edge of the folded base, placing it in the center.

Watch It Rock! – Place the UFO on a flat surface, and gently push it to see it rock back and forth!
