The Craft
This paper plate UFO craft includes several easy steps where kids get to paint, cut, and assemble their own flying saucer! They will:
✔ Paint a paper plate to create the base of the UFO.
✔ Cut and attach colorful craft paper pieces for windows, an alien pilot, and spaceship details.
✔ Use a Sharpie for outlines to add final touches and bring their UFO to life!
Instructions
Prepare the Paper Plate – Select a clean paper plate and cut it in half.
Paint the UFO Base – Choose an acrylic paint color and apply 1-2 coats to the half paper plate. Let it dry.
Prepare the Cutouts – Use colored craft papers to cut out the alien, UFO windows, stand, glass cover, and shine symbol.
Draw the Alien Details – Use a Sharpie to add outlines to the alien template piece.
Attach the Eyes & Mouth – Glue the eyes onto the alien’s face and attach the teeth and mouth cutouts. We used googly eyes but you can use small white circles if you don’t have them.
Assemble the Alien – Glue the alien cutout onto the glass cover.
Add the Windows – Attach the window cutouts in a row along the painted paper plate UFO base.
Attach the Stand – Glue the stand cutouts to the bottom of the UFO.
Add Final Details – Attach the glass shine symbol to one side of the glass cover.
