Materials Needed:

Colored craft paper: We used white for the face, blue for the hair and yellow for the horn. Then strips of rainbow construction paper for the rainbow bottom. But you can use any colors you like. Get creative and have fun.

Unicorn bookmark template: You can grab the free printable template at the end of the tutorial.

You’ll also need some basic craft supplies like:

• Scissors
• Pencil
• Craft glue
• Markers

How to Make a Unicorn Bookmark

To make your unicorn bookmark craft, start by downloading and printing out our unicorn template. You can find it at the end of the tutorial.

Then follow these steps to create your bookmark.

Step 1: Choose Your Colors and Cut Out the Shapes

First, pick several colors for the rainbow strips at the bottom of the bookmark and a couple for colors for the unicorn itself.

Trace out the template on the different colored papers and cut them out.

Step 2: Assemble the Ears and Face

Now, glue the inner ear pieces on the outer ears. Use markers to add fun patterns and details to the mane.

Attach the ovalish cutout (lower area of the face) to the bottom of the unicorns head.

Step 3: Add the Horn and Ears

Glue the horn to the top the unicorns head in the center.

Then attach the ears to both sides of the horn.

Step 4: Attach the Mane

Glue the mane to the top of the unicorn’s head, keeping the bangs of the mane on the front side of the unicorn’s head, and the bottom part slightly backwards like shown above.

Step 5: Draw the Eyes

Use a marker or pen to draw on a pair of eyes of your adorable unicorn.

Step 6: Complete the Face

Then draw on a nose and mouth. We just used two dots for the nostrils and a cute smile.

Step 7: Prepare the Rainbow Strips

To make the rainbow part of the bookmark, cut out a small piece of paper to attach the rainbow strips onto.

Start gluing the strips onto the small piece of paper from one side.

*Tip: The strips don’t have to all be the same length. In ours we kept them different lengths for a fun effect.

Step 8: Finish the Rainbow

Finish attaching all the rainbow strips onto the small paper strip one by one, lined up side by side like shown above.

Step 9: Attach the Rainbow to the Unicorn

Finally, glue the closed end of the strips to the bottom back area of the unicorns head. Voilà!

You now have a magical unicorn bookmark or a fun addition to any other craft projects.
